"Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God." Hebrews 6:1

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is now a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:17-18

"But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 3:18

You Are a New Creation!

The day you received Jesus, something changed. The old things; the old nature; the defective nature has passed away. Behold, all things have become new, because you are in Christ Jesus. You are a new creation. Now, that’s a big deal!

Let Us Go On to Perfection

The goal is to be perfect, but due to the fallen nature of man, we cannot be perfect by ourselves. Psalm 119:96 says: “I have seen the end of all perfection, but your commandment is exceedingly broad.” Human perfection is limited, but as we study the word of God, we enjoy His perfection, which is limitless. Perfection is not to be found in ourselves, it is to be found in Christ Jesus.

The Harsh Reality of Not Being in Christ

Everyone that is not in Christ is like a toad placed in water that is put on the fire. Ever so slowly, the water is heating up, and the individual is left unaware that what they are enjoying is their roasting. The sin that they love so much is killing them. However, praise be to God: Christ has come to rescue us from the roasting!

He Came to Woo Us

God didn’t command us into a relationship, He came to woo us, by paying the price for us, so that He would gain us as His bride. Like a country girl, Christ came to pursue us, and rescue us from the hardships of life. When Christ came after you, He came to rescue you from the hardship of a broken world system, eternal damnation, and condemnation to eternal punishment, as a result of sin.

God wants to gain your attention! Christ has come to woo us, save us, regenerate us, transform us, and perfect us.

Will you respond to His pursuit?
