Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Romans 12: 2a (NIV)

The sower sows the Word. Mark 4:14 (NKJV)

God’s ideal for humankind is that we all come to faith in Christ Jesus and are transformed into His image and likeness. In God’s plan, the transformation is constantly ongoing, so that each succeeding day, we reflect God’s glory more than we did the day before. When people meet with God’s children, it ought to show through our words, the ideas that we share, and even from our carriage.

Our second key verse is very important to note, because the seed of God’s Word in the heart of a believer is the key to transformed living. The mystery for us is that Christ Himself is the Word of God, so this means that Christ came to sow Himself. This also means that we cannot live in isolation from Jesus. In fact, the Scripture says, “apart from Me you can do nothing” (John 15: 5). The major motivation for transformed living is because we know that this is God’s desire for His people. His first desire is for the sinners (the un-churched) to be transformed into saints who become members of His Body, with Christ as the Head (1Timothy 2: 4).

Since it is God’s desire to sow His Word (Himself) in our hearts, it should be our desire for our hearts to be fertile soil for His Word. This means that we do not stand in opposition to the Lord, and we do not allow even good-sounding ideas that are contrary to the Word, to compete with the supremacy of God’s Word in our hearts. When we enthrone the Lord and His Word in our hearts, it bears fruit and prospers to the glory of God, and we truly enjoy transformed living!
