“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5: 14- 16 (NKJV)

Now that we have received the gift of God’s grace, it will be difficult to keep it to one’s self, because God’s grace bubbles up and out of us toward others. In fact, Jesus gave an instruction to all believers, to let our lights shine in such a way that other people will be moved to glorify God. There is a great reward for every believer who receives the grace of God, relies on it, and allows it to motivate them in positive actions toward others.

At creation, God chose to indwell humankind, and despite the fall of Adam, He redeemed us and still lives in us. True fulfilment can only be found when we allow His Spirit within us to prompt us to do the good works He has already prepared for us to do. When we live like this, we will have a positive effect on our communities and on the world around us, and the results will glorify God.
