The Bible says we have been called into the fellowship of Jesus. The word “fellowship” is from the Greek word Koinonia, and Apostle Paul used this word in many portions in his letters to refer to “partnership”. Those who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and saviour are in partnership with Him, as this is the first step to having a relationship with the Lord.

Being in partnership with the Lord involves joint ownership (1 Corinthians 3: 21), for Scripture says “…all things are yours”. This means that because of Jesus, life and all its possibilities are available to the believer, as the Lord leads them. This includes good health, favour, blessings, protection, provision and peace. All tings belong to us because we belong to the One to Whom all things belong!

Partnership with Jesus Christ is the solution to the problems of life. Partnership requires agreement, and God calls us to be united with Him by heeding His counsel. In many portions of Scripture, God admonishes people not to turn deaf ears to His Word (Zechariah 1: 3), but sometimes, people are more interested in trying to use God to pursue their own selfish ambitions. Our union with God is eternal, but we must be mindful to maintain our communion with the Lord, because apart from Him we can do nothing (John 15: 5). As branches of the Vine who is Christ, all we need to do is to abide in Him, and we do this by daily being conscious of our position in Christ (2 Corinthians 5: 17), and by being mindful that we are God’s beloved (Ephesians 1: 6). Although the devil tries to distract us, we must be determined not to focus on our physical conditions, but on our position in Christ, for this is the channel through which the Holy Spirit guides us daily.
