Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom. Psalm 51:6 (NKJV)

The Psalms is full of songs through which people of faith poured out their hearts and their various emotions to God. The different writers were real with God about their pains and joys, and we see this in the words of their praise and prayers to the Lord. Even though humans wrote the books that form the Bible, they were inspired by the Holy Spirit, and their words were from the Heart of God. Every Word of God is true (2 Samuel 7:28), and God's desire is for us to enjoy His Word and receive Its nourishment for our minds and the different issues we experience in life.

God's promises in the Bible can be broadly categorised as being based on His glory, holiness and righteousness. God wants His people to participate in and enjoy His glory, holiness and righteousness, so that we can experience all the blessings He has for us. We see from our foundation Scripture that God desires truth in our inward parts, therefore, as we seek God in truth and sincerity, we experience His glory as our covering and shield (Psalm 3:3). We also receive the fulfilment of His promises, because God is so holy, that He cannot lie and He does not go back on His promises (Psalm 89:35). Even when we do not understand His methods, God works out His good plans for His children! Indeed, through Jesus, God has given us His righteousness as a gift (Psalm 24: 5), and has qualified us to receive all His blessings.

Whenever we see God's promises in the Psalms, we can boldly hold on to them because that is God's Word given to us, based on His holiness. Indeed, God answers to nobody, and He performs His Word!
