Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Romans 12: 2a (NIV)

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6: 33 (NIV)

As children of God who have been welcomed into God’s family, we are and should be all about God’s Kingdom. Indeed, any form of transformed living has to do with the Kingdom of God. Whether we are familiar with the truths of the Kingdom of God, or it is a new topic to some, receiving the truth about God’s Kingdom causes lives to be transformed. Here are four important concepts to note in this series:

Conformed: patterned/ fashioned/ styled according to the values of the world. For believers, this should not be our goal.

Transformed: altered/ converted, first by believing in Christ, and then remodelled/ switched from a different direction into God’s direction.

Image: When transformation occurs in a person’s heart, the image that is seen on the outside is the image of Christ. The Bible speaks of the removal of a veil causes us to be transformed into the image of Christ. However, the veil is not removed by our efforts; rather, it occurs when we look to the Lord. God’s eventual goal is that we all become replicas of Christ that match Him; almost like a body-double or carbon copy.

Kingdom: Matthew 6: 33 instructs us to focus first on God’s Kingdom and nothing else.

We must therefore allow Scriptures concerning the Kingdom of God to question us, so that we can align ourselves accordingly. As we study Scripture, we should check with our experiences, and allow the Word of God to mould us into God’s image.
