“When leaders lead in Israel, when the people willingly offer themselves, BLESS THE LORD!” Judges 5:2

"And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not." Deuteronomy 8:2

To be a graced leader is to have a desire to lead God’s people into God’s interests. We cannot do this without the mind of Christ.
To lead means to: defend the people, take them out of harm’s way, and to resist the evil one. The graced leader adopts a grace-inspired approach to leadership. Such a person inspires others, because they have been inspired by the Holy Spirit, which is the Spirit of grace. It is not the individual that is ‘making it happen’, but the Holy Spirit, who is regulating such a person. Graced leaders must live lives that are regulated by the Holy Spirit!

What is on the inside of you?

Leadership will reveal what is on the inside of you. A biblical example of this is Deborah, in Judges 4:7. When crisis occurred, something arose in her. In times of intense crisis, that which is on the inside of you as a leader, will rise up. Crisis reveals what is really in the heart. Leadership brings out what is already on the inside of you.

Our response:

1. The word: give priority to it. You will find that when you give priority to the word, your energy for leadership will flow from it. (2 Timothy 3:16.)
2. Prayer: Ephesians 6:17-18- “the sword of the Spirit is the word of God”- the means of your warfare is the word of God. You need to read it, and pray into it.
3. Do not quench the Holy Spirit: God came to redeem man, so that we can enjoy the Spirit of God. Don’t quench what God has made you to enjoy.

Don't just be a leader, be a graced leader.
