Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. 2 Peter 1: 2 (NIV)

Two ideas that stand out in the second epistle of Peter are “divine supply” and “divine administration”. In terms of “Divine Supply”, this Scripture shows us that through Jesus, God has already made His abundant supply available to the Church. This supply takes care of literally everything we need for life and godliness, and we cooperate with God when we know and depend on His Grace.

This Scripture also shows us that God has called us through His “glory and goodness”. Our previous studies this year have taught us that “glory” is God’s divine nature in expression. In terms of “Divine Administration”, God’s goal is for our lives to portray His glory and goodness to the world around us, and this is why He supplies us His divine life. In other words, living life through dependence on God’s divine supply will enable His divine administration through us, and will result in a remarkable life.
