The Greatest Gift!

No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.  1 John 4: 12 (NIV)

In the spirit of Christmas, people give gifts and share with family and friends. This is a yearly opportunity to remember that life is best lived in community, and that acts of kindness enrich the giver as well as the receiver. God’s love compels us towards love and generosity. God gets to demonstrate His love to people when we yield ourselves to Him and show love to the people in our community.

However, God Himself gave the greatest gift, when He gave us Jesus. Here are four things to note about the gift of Jesus:

Personal: He knows you intimately and still seeks a personal relationship with you.

Practical: He is practical and can transform every area of your life: your lifestyle, worldview, and your expectations.

Permanent: The gift of God, Jesus Christ, is permanent. He remains with those who believe in Him, and will never leave.

Purchased: The gift of a relationship with God, ultimately cost Jesus His life. Yet, He freely laid His life down because He loves us.
