The Lord will keep you from all harm— He will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. Psalm 121: 7-8 (NIV)

Throughout this season, we have drawn reassurance from God’s promise to watch over us in our comings and goings. It is important to note that we are not suddenly claiming this promise in a vacuum… rather, we have seen God’s faithfulness in watching over New Wine Church since our inception 27 years ago!!! We celebrate God’s goodness and grace with our hearts full of praise, giving glory to God (Psalm 50:23, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpF53DhhLLI ).

We are alive and thriving because of God’s victories on our behalf, and because of His unfailing mercy! When we pause to acknowledge His faithfulness to us, this glorifies God; and He enables us to see that since He is still on the throne even in the midst of floods and crisis, we can experience His peace (Psalm 29:1 and 10).

For New Wine Church, God entrusted our founding Pastor and his successor with the vision to discover, develop and deploy the gifts God has placed in each member. That vision is now our charge to keep, and we have all become stewards that represent God. God’s desire is to continue to regulate us through His Spirit, and to empower us to be river-crossers that victoriously cross over obstacles in fulfilling His goals. Wisdom is essential for us to fulfil this charge, and such wisdom can only be found in the Lord (Job 28: 27- 28). As leaders, our goal is to move forward in the Lord, embracing His wisdom and being regulated by the Holy Spirit, so that we enter into the path of understanding and fulfil God’s goals.
