"… A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of Your people Israel." Luke 2: 30-32 (NKJV)

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. 1 John 5:20 (NKJV)

We have seen through this series that Christmas is not about what we want, but about God's desire to be in relationship with humans. We have also learned that Christmas offers us the experience of a relationship with God, which is the gift that keeps on giving.

Everyone craves for love, life and fellowship. In fact, many people who are trapped in deviant behaviour are actually looking for love, life and fellowship, but are searching in the wrong places. These needs are woven into the human spirit, and the only way to satisfy them is through Jesus. Firstly, God so loves us, that He did not wait for us to deserve His help before He sent Jesus (Romans 5:8). As humans who may sometimes experience strained relationships, this is something we can learn from, as we determine to reach out to make the first loving move towards a relative or friend.

The life that God gives is found only in Jesus (John 20:21). This is why our walk of faith requires regularly studying and focussing on Jesus, instead of tradition, philosophy or self-effort. In His kindness towards us, God has called us into fellowship with Jesus so that we may receive His life and experience His love (1 Corinthians 1:9). God faithfully showers us with His mercy each day, and this thought should inspire thanksgiving in our hearts and deeper fellowship with Jesus.
