Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? Isaiah 53: 1 (NKJV)

The truth is that we all need the Arm of the Lord in our daily lives, but the more exciting truth is that the Lord has made His Arm available for all of us. In this series, we have learnt that the Arm of the Lord refers to His presence, power, wisdom, protection and judgment against the evil one (Isaiah 51: 9- 10). In earlier series this year, we also learned about our transformed reality as believers, and about the renewing of our minds which occurs through fellowship with the Lord (Romans 12:2). Putting all these truths together, we see that our transformed reality involves God’s presence, power, wisdom and protection at work in our lives, and His judgment against the evil one.

Our enjoyment of the Arm of the Lord is a lot more than what we can objectively understand (Romans 1:1). It is beyond what we can perceive with our natural senses, for there is the “hidden work” that the Arm of the Lord accomplishes. In fact, we may often be discouraged by things we see and feel. It may not seem like it, but God is working nonetheless!

Because of the Arm of the Lord, the devil, sin and death have no hold over the believer (1 John 3:8b, Hebrews 2:14). It is important to believe and reiterate this, because the truth of our victory over the devil, sin and death, is not something we can physically or objectively see. This emphasizes the truth that in times of crisis, we must not depend on our natural senses, but on the truth that the Arm of the Lord is working for us behind the scenes (1 Corinthians 2: 9-10). And the Holy Spirit in us, helps us to recognise the Arm of the Lord at work when He nudges us.
